Course aims:

Obtaining the knowledge for using modern design and simulation tools in electronics field.
Understanding the basic concepts of CAD techniques for designing electrical circuits and PCBs
Obtaining the skills to create simulations scenarios for electronic circuits diagnostics.

Course Entry Requirements:

Computer aided graphics in engineering and physics basic knowledge

Course contents:

1. Introduction to specific CAD tools. 2. Drawing electronic schematics with ECAD software. 3. Designing electronic symbols and creating data bases 4. Design of the printed board circuit (PCB) layout 5. Introducing the SPICE analysis tools 6. Different types of circuit analyses in PSpice software 7. Typical applications in electronics and automotive

Projected course and laboratory practice work

Learning outcomes:

Acquiring the knowledge of modeling, simulation and testing of electronic circuits, with computer aided tools. Development of validation skills of modeling and simulation techniques.

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Final exam - 60% of final grade and Student Project - 40% of final grade
