Course contents:

1. Theory: philosophy – philosophy of art – estetics – theory of arts – art history and criticism. 2. Literary criticism as theoretical discipline 3. Literary creation. The Rider 4. Tendencies in the literary criticism: Russian formalism 5. New criticism 6. Phenomenology 7. Structuralism. 8. Post-structuralism - The Deconstructivism 9. Literary psychology 10. Psychoanalyse/ thematical interpretation/ 11. Archetipology 12. Hermeneutics 13. Sociology 14. The Science of Imaginary

Learning outcomes:

Initiating students into the contemporary problems of the poetics and literary criticism, developing a debate in three different directions: structure, specificity and the efficiency of the theoretical approach; the contemporary meaning of the concepts in estetics, literary theory and criticism; tendencies in methodology

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Written paper – interpretative essay – 50%; continuous assessment – 50%
