Course aims:

The main purpose of the disciplines studied in the Master of Science in Criminal and Forensic consists of its main thorough Knowledge of modern methods of identification techniques and forensics.
During discipline "techniques and modern methodology of identification" master aims to provide an insight into modern technical methods and means used in judicial activity to identify people and objects in forensic science.
It is known that forensic identification is a central criminal investigation, forensic identification ultimate goal of establishing concrete consisting of individual objects and people, not only of importance in establishing the identity, but also in establishing non-identity.

Course contents:

1. Examination of offenses of false documents 2. Overview of forensic identification (definition of "forensic identification" and the presentation object and purpose of forensic identification, forensic identification presentation typology and principles) and its role in the judicial process. 3. The means and methods of classical and modern forensic identification of the person: identify the person after exterior signs- spoke portrait 4. The means and methods of classical and modern forensic identification of the person: identify the person after exterior signs - phonoscope 5. The means and methods of classical and modern forensic identification of the person: identify the person after exterior signs- identification after writing 6. The means and methods of classical and modern forensic identification of the person: as photo identification of the person or imagetrak 7. Means and modern forensic methods used to identify persons after the fingerprints (AFIS system morphotrak and tehnocolia Ruvis), master Sabau (Dăian) Teodora Florina, 2015 - 8. Modern forensic tools and methods used to identify persons after traces of biological technology (DNA) 9. Applications track Image CDN and identifying missing persons and dead bodies 10. Other methods of biometric identification: recognition retina, iris, etc. (Adrian Dăian MA), 2015 - 11. The application and system IBIS ballistics identification 12. National System Administration genetic data 13. Modern technologies of object identification, material evidence, materials and documents trace 14. Issues related to the significance of forensic identification and presentation stages forensic identification (determining the type, group and subgroup) 15. Description of the methods used for identification: observation, analysis, comparison, juxtaposition, superposition 16. Rules for forming conclusions regarding the identification.

Learning outcomes:

• Applying theories, principles and concepts in a context determined • Preliminary analysis of the data, their interpretation, the carrying out of classifications and some conceptual delineations • Development of Vocational projects using theories, principles and specific methods of entitlement.

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Written paper – interpretative essay – 80%; continuous assessment – 20%.
