-adapting the compositional design to the Byzantine specifics of icon and mural art.

Course contents:

Compositional portrait, detailed study and its transposition in the Byzantine manner

The expressiveness of the human figure - comparative study according to the Byzantine model and image

The expressiveness of the human figure - studies of figurative gestures and ways of canonical representation

Modeling and imagining of portraits of saints respecting the specifics of the representation of gesture and age in Byzantine art

Composing different biblical scenes based on model or memory and imagining sketches, sketches in different drawing techniques

Teaching methods:

lecture, debates, exemples, practical activities

Learning outcomes:

Transmitting theoretical notions and making specific practical applications the field of drawing, the development of artistic visual skills through awareness, assimilation and representation of graphic, constructive principles and value from the models in the proposed themes.

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

oral exam 50%, and implication in seminar practical activities 50%
