Course aims:

To enhance students’ ability to identify, analyze, and address ethical dilemmas in academic and professional contexts.
Knowing, understanding and a correct using of fundamental ideas concerning concepts specific to discipline.
To develop a deep understanding of ethical principles, deontological values.

Course contents:

Fundamental Values and Principles: Identifying the basic principles of ethics in health care. Fundamental values of the physiotherapist: respect, confidentiality, responsibility.
The Deontological Code in Physiotherapy: The Deontological Code of the College of Physiotherapists in Romania; Responsibilities toward the patient, the profession, colleagues, and society; Legal responsibility.

Teaching methods:

Lecture, conversation, exemplification.

Learning outcomes:

•    Acquisition, understanding, accurate presentation, and explanation of the concepts and notions specific to the field of activity.

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Written paper – 60%; continuous assessment – 40%.
