Course aims:

To identify the role of rational-emotional and behavioral education in the in the development of the person
To describe the causal relationships event-thinking-behavior (emotion) in various educational and life contexts
To apply the causal relationships event-thinking-behavior (emotion) in educational counseling
To apply the principles of REBT in education
To promote rational thinking

1. History of rational-emotional and behavioral education 2. Principles of rational-emotional and behavioral education 3. The REBT triad thought-emotion-behavior 4. Rational Thoughts and Irrational Thoughts 5. The ABC model 6. The ABCDE model 7. Disputing irrational thoughts

Teaching methods:

Lecture, conversation, exemplification, debate, case studies

Learning outcomes:

• conducting the teaching and learning process in preschool and primary school • counselling and psycho-pedagogical support for various educational groups • cooperation in interdisciplinary teams in order to carry out programs and projects in education • life-long learning

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Written paper – 60%; Continuous assessment – 40%.
