Course aims:

-to help students to use and interpret the specific legislation in the field;
-to help students to draw up different types of environmental assessment;
-to help students to understand as well as to use appropriately the specific notions of the discipline;

Course contents:

-Introduction to environmental impact assessment. Types of evaluations. -Presentation of the procedure for carrying out environmental balances -Presentation of the sampling methodologies necessary for the preparation of the environmental balances -Environmental balance level 0 and 1. Method of preparation. Examples. -Environmental balance level 2. Method of preparation. -Preparation of the compliance program. Preparation of the monitoring plan. Presentation of the limits allowed by the legislation in force. -Environmental banalce - case studies -Strategic environmental assessment. Legislative framework. -Strategic environmental assessment methodology for plans and programs -The framework content of the environmental report -Establishing environmental objectives for plans and programs -Strategic environmental assessment methods for plans and programs -Case studies on strategic environmental assessment for plans and programs at national level -Case studies on strategic environmental assessments for plans and programs in a transboundary context

The aim of the course is to help students acquire and develop practical skills for compiling an environmental assessment and an environmental report.
