Course aims:

Discuss the historical context of ethics in sociology
Define common terms such as ethics, morality, ethical dilemmas, and ethical principles.
Identify the purpose and functions of the professional Code of Ethics.
Identify the different ethical decision-making models.
Discuss ethical issues that emerge with sociology practice under managed care systems.

Dimensions of professionalization of sociologist: The roles of sociologist, Personality and style of the sociologist C4. Vocation and professional ethics: Professional moral dimensions of personality and Morals, ethics, deontology C5. The sociologist rights C6. Debts sociologist C7. Ethical aspects of the improvement of sociologist C8. Codes of ethics: International ethical code of sociologist, C9. Values and principles of sociologist. professional ethics: The fundamental values of the profession of sociologist, Principles of sociologist philosophy C10. Training of personnel specialized in sociology C11. Professional status of sociologist- Fundamentals sociologist status C12. Psychology and Professional Ethics

Learning outcomes:

• Understand and describe the historical context of development of professional ethics in sociology. • Understand and use use correctly common terms such ethics, morality, ethical dilemmas, and ethical principles. • Apply adequately ethical principles in sociologist practice. • Solve properly moral dilemmas in sociologist practice.

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Written paper –– 60%; project assessment – 40%.
