Ability to recognize anatomical structures and normal function of organs and systems.
Correct indication of specific tests relevant to the pathology of a given organ/system.
Solid knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology.
Introduction to morphopathology: scope, study and diagnostic methods, morpho-functional notions on lesions and pathological processes, classification of pathological processes – 2h
Cell injury: reversible and irreversible injury; hydropic degeneration; steatosis; jaundice; cellular adaptations in growth and differentiation: atrophy, hypertrophy, hyperplasia – 2h
Acute and chronic inflammation and repair: types of acute exudative inflammation (serous, catarrhal, fibrinous, purulent—phlegmon and abscess, hemorrhagic); leptomeningitis; chronic nonspecific and granulomatous inflammation; granulomatous types (tuberculosis—microscopic and macroscopic elementary lesions, routes of spread, evolution of tuberculous lesions; syphilis); regeneration—control of growth and differentiation; repair by connective tissue; wound healing; fracture healing – 4h
Neoplasia: definition, nomenclature, general features of benign and malignant neoplasms; classification and morphology of epithelial tumors (carcinomas) and connective-tissue tumors (sarcomas) – 2h
