Introduces students to the historical development of probation and to contemporary practices in implementing crime control policies

Probation, conceptual delimitations. History of probation. The main models of probation. The legal context of probation in Romania The probation before court verdict: evaluation report. The probation after court verdict: surveillance plan, assistance plan. Methods and techniques used in probation practice. The future of probation.
