Course aims:

To know the main theoretical models and apply them to increase the occupational performance of clients
To understand the role and contribution of the occupational therapist within the multidisciplinary team in the therapeutic process
To learn to develop the therapeutic relationship with the beneficiaries and to motivate their participation in the therapeutic process;
Knowledge and execution of professional tasks in the multidisciplinary team

Course contents:

1. Human transformation through occupation: basic concepts, purpose, components of the model, conditions for transformation, the therapeutic process. 2. The theory of occupational adaptation: the elements of occupational adaptation, the process of occupational adaptation, the adaptive response. 3. The model of creative abilities: fundamental concepts, the development of creative abilities - theoretical assumptions, characteristics of creative abilities, implications for therapeutic practice, areas of occupational performance. 4. The KAWA model: the structure and components of the model, qualities of the model, applications in therapeutic practice. 5. The influence of occupations on human development. 6. Ergotherapy: principles, definitions, the process of ergotherapy, techniques, evaluation. 7. Models of Occupational Performance: Ecology of Human Performance (EHP), Person in the Environment and Occupational Performance (PEHOP), Person in the Environment and Occupation (PEO).

Teaching methods:

Lecture, discussion and debate, 5-minute essay

Learning outcomes:

Operation with fundamental concepts in the field of psychology Identification and evaluation of the client's occupational needs and problematic situations Management and promotion of occupational therapy Design and implementation of occupational therapy interventions Interpersonal communication and communication specific to occupational therapy

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Course (60%) completeness and accuracy of knowledge. Seminar (40%), the ability to use knowledge to solve problems.
