Overview
Aims
- Legislation on the organization and functioning of institutions in Romania AS specific to different types of social welfare institutions (organization, functions) and specific network of social services;
- Identification and orientation skills in the network of institutions and social services;
- Open epistemic attitudes in social assistance.
Course contents
1. Preliminary considerations on social assistance in society 2. The evolution of social assistance 3. Social Action, Basic social assistance system 4. Social services 5. Social assistance at the individual, group and community 6. General issues concerning the organization of social assistance in Romania 7. The organization and functioning of the Ministry of Labor, Family and Social Protection and units 8. National Authority for Family and Child Rights 9. The organization and functioning of the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports and the subordinated units 10. Organization and functioning of the Ministry of Health and subordinated units 11. Organization and functioning of the Ministry of Justice and the subordinated units 12. Categories of beneficiaries of social assistance services 13. The system of social benefits granted by the State 14. Private Social Assistance System (NGO) associations and foundations;
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, and having completed the essential reading and activities, the students will be able to:appreciate the role of social work sistem
Assessment
Written paper –– 60%; project assessment – 40%.
