Course aims:

to know and is able to apply the concept of dogma;
to know and is able to explain the differences between the Orthodox dogmas and the dogmas belonging to the other Christian confessions;
to identify the specific characteristics of the Orthodox dogmatics;
to define and explains the general evolution of the dogmas;
to apply the rules of an organized and efficient work, and manifest a responsible attitude toward the didactical-scientific domain, in order to creatively exploit his own potential, observing, in the same time, the principles and norms of professional ethics

Course contents:

1. The Mystery of the Holy Confession, 2. The Holy Eucharist , 3. The Mystery of the Holy Priesthood, 4. The Holy Unction, 5. The Wedding, 6. The Religious Services other than Holy Mysteries, 7. The Christian Teaching about Death , 8. The Individual Judgment, 9. The Paradise and the Hell. About Purgatory, 10. The Parousia (the Second Coming of the Lord), 11. The Resurrection of the Dead and the Individual Judgment, 12. The Millenarianism.

Teaching methods:

Lecture, exemplification, conversation, debate.

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Written paper-interpretative essay – 10%. Frontal evaluation/ Oral exam: 90%
