- Constantine the Great and the increasing role and importance of the Church.
- Theodosius the Great - Christianity becomes the State religion.
- The Byzantine symphony.
- Disturbance actions of the Byzantine symphony –the Monophysitism.
- Disturbance actions of the Byzantine symphony – the Iconoclasm.
- Disturbance actions of the Byzantine symphony – the Monothelism.
- The role of monks in establishing the Church-State relations in Byzantium

- Controversies between Constantinopolitan patriarchs and Byzantine emperors.

Learning outcomes
The lecture tries to analyze the specific problems of the Church-State relationship during the Byzantine history.
