Introduction. The history of mosaic art. The mosaic. Technique: materials and methodology of realization.
Week 4, 5, 6:
Mosaic in antiquity: Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome
Week 7, 8, 9:
The first Christian representations The mosaic in the Byzantine Empire
Week 13-14:
The mosaic in contemporary art
Learning outcomes
The monumental art course (mosaic) is carried out in close correlation with disciplines Study of composition for iconography, Christian art: Techniques and styles, Iconography, Study of drawing for iconography, Study of color
for iconography, Specialized site practice (mosaic), Anatomy artistic, indispensable elements for composing a visual image aesthetic, iconographic, of a certain formal and ideational complexity.Assessment
Oral exam 50%, implication in course debates 30%, practical activities 20%.
