Course aims:
Design and planning of the occupational therapy intervention program that involves a holistic approach to the individual, taking into account his mental, physical and spiritual needs and abilities, in relation to his occupations and his living environment (physical / family / social / professional)
Description of the main paradigms, concepts, theories and models specific to the field and occupational therapy, arguing the interdisciplinary approach, in the research approach
Use of field and specialist knowledge to interpret and critically analyze evidence from qualitative and quantitative research in order to develop and promote evidence-based practice.

1. Introduction to occupational therapy. Occupational therapist profession. Aspects of professional identity.
2. History of occupational therapy. Occupational therapy in Europe
3. Code of ethics and international standards of practice
4. Occupation: definition, characterization, conceptual delimitations. The historical perspective of the concept of occupation. and so on
5.Variables related to occupation. Determinants of occupation: physical, psychological, sociocultural, environmental
6. Taxonomies of occupational models.
7. International Classification of Functions (ICF)
8.Practice models of occupational therapy. Occupational Facilitation and the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance (CMOP)
9.Practice models of occupational therapy. Human Occupation Model (MOHO), Person-Environment - Occupation Model (PEO). Applications of practice models
10. Frameworks and their application in the context of various dysfunctions (physical, psychosocial, etc.)

Appropriate use in professional communication of basic concepts, theories and models specific to Occupational Therapy, in particular, and Psychology / Socio-Human Sciences in general
Explain and interpret the theoretical concepts underlying occupational therapy, using specifically the occupational nature of human beings, their occupational performance and the relationship between occupational performance - health - well-being
