Overview
Aims
Acquisition of basic notions on the structure of all systems and organs of the human body.
Ability to recognize anatomical structures and normal function of organs and systems.
Correct indication of specific tests relevant to the pathology of a given organ/system.
Course contents
Introduction to morphopathology: scope, study and diagnostic methods, morpho-functional notions on lesions and pathological processes, classification of pathological processes – 2h
Cell injury: reversible and irreversible injury; hydropic degeneration; steatosis; jaundice; cellular adaptations in growth and differentiation: atrophy, hypertrophy, hyperplasia – 2h
Acute and chronic inflammation and repair: types of acute exudative inflammation (serous, catarrhal, fibrinous, purulent—phlegmon and abscess, hemorrhagic); leptomeningitis; chronic nonspecific and granulomatous inflammation; granulomatous types (tuberculosis—microscopic and macroscopic elementary lesions, routes of spread, evolution of tuberculous lesions; syphilis); regeneration—control of growth and differentiation; repair by connective tissue; wound healing; fracture healing – 4h
