Course aims:

Investigation and analysis based on the debates a the main theories of European integration;
Examining EU democracy according to governance theory versus consociational democracy
Analysis of the role of supranational actors in the decision-making process

Course contents:

European integration - psychosociological perspective History of ideas and practice of European construction Romanians and European integration. The attitude of Romanians Romanians and European integration. The attitude of Western citizens National identity and European identity Intergroup assignments in the context of European integration Labor migration and European integration Research methodology of European integration. Opinion polls Research methodology of European integration. Eurobarometers and their methodological-theoretical significance European integration and globalization

Debate, argument, text analysis

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge of the main approaches and theories regarding European integration Knowing the history of European construction. Knowledge of the institutional actors and the decision-making process at the European Union level. Students will know to identify and use the relevant sources of information about the European Union

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Course (50%) Acquiring the knowledge of the course and from the specialized bibliography. Seminar (50%) Participation in the seminar debates and oral presentation of a given topic.
