Course aims:

To apply learning theories and models in preschool and primary school education
To explain the contemporary theories of learning
To describe learning experiences in each stage of development
To identify behavioral, cognitive and social factors that influence the learning processes in early childhood
To critically analyze the thoretical models of learning applied in early education

1. General principles and controversial issues of learning 2. Learning theories applied in early education 3. Learning experiences in early childhood 4. Learning experiences in kindergarten 5. Learning experiences in primary school

Teaching methods:

Lecture, conversation, exemplification, learning through discovery, debate, case studies

Learning outcomes:

• conducting the teaching and learning process in preschool and primary school • counseling and psycho-pedagogical support for various educational groups • cooperation in interdisciplinary teams in order to carry out programs and projects in education • life-long learning

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Written paper – 60%; Continuous assessment – 40%.
