Course aims:

Design and planning of the occupational therapy intervention program that involves a holistic approach to the individual, taking into account his mental, physical and spiritual needs and abilities, in relation to his occupations and his living environment (physical / family / social / professional)
To have knowledge regarding the monitoring and evaluation of the intervention process at individual or family level
To analyze significant data for the characterization of the social problems faced by people with disabilities

Course Entry Requirements:

Fundamental notions of occupational therapy

Course contents:

1. Basic concepts and relevant theories: sensory and mental deficiencies, occupational recovery, sensory integration theory.
2. The impact of sensory impairments on occupational capacity
3. Rehabilitation of people with sensory and mental disabilities
4. Management of hearing and speech impairments, occupational rehabilitation
Psycho-social implications of visual impairments
5. Occupational rehabilitation of visually impaired people
6. Occupational therapy for people with cognitive and learning disabilities
7. Occupational therapy for people with tactile disabilities,
8. Occupational therapy with people with disabilities regarding the perception of body position and problems regulating posture and movement.
Sensory integration and movement regulation: exercises.
9. Occupational therapy for people with taste deficiencies
10. Occupational therapy for people with olfactory disabilities
