Objectives of the course consist of understanding the problems concerning the electronic and telecommunication measurements, based on physical phenomenons.
The course focuses especially on doing practical measurements and correct interpretation of the results .
The course focuses on digital and analog measurement setups
time, spectral and statistical signals characterization
Explaining and interpreting the signal acquisition and processing methods
Fundamentals of electric circuits, special mathematics and mathematical analysis.
• I. Fundamental concepts in metrology - 2:00h (relative and absolute international units). • II. Measurement procedures and errors - 2:00h (technical estimation) • III. Electric quantities measurement with modern oscilloscopes - 2h (frequency, amplitude and time period) • IV. Measurement of AC / DC voltage -2h (sources of errors) • V. Measurement of AC / DC current intensity – 2h (sources of errors) • VI. Measurement of AC / DC power - 2h (in single phase networks) • VII. Measurement of AC / DC power - 2h (in three phase networks) • VIII. Measurement of power in low and high frequency – 2h (using an absorption wattmeter and a bolometer) • IX. Measurement of power dissipated in electronic circuits – 2h (using different working regimes) • X. Measurement of the electric energy - 2h (measurement of active and reactive energy using an electronic energy meter) • XI Measurement of the electric energy quality – 2h (in accordance with European standard EN 50160 etc.) • XII Measurement of the electric impedance – 2h (direct, resonance and bridge methods) • XIII Computer assisted measurements -2h (equipment and data acquisition systems) • XIV Final recap and assessment topics– 2h (exam procedures)
Technical presentation and meeting with experimental exemplification
- describing the operation of the devices and the electronic circuits and the fundamental procedures for measurement of electric quantities; - diagnosis / recovering of some electronic systems and equipments; - using of electronic instruments and particular methods in order to describe and evaluate the performances of some electronic circuits and systems
