Course aims:

Knowledge and understanding of the logic of qualitative research in the social sciences.
Acquiring methodological information, which will help students in the activity of knowledge and understanding of social phenomena.
Knowledge of the main methods and techniques of qualitative research.

Course contents:

Management and analysis of qualitative data. Definitions, epistemological assumptions, data analysis models.
Data analysis. Relationships between qualitative analysis and quantitative data analysis.
Designing a research.
Research design.
Conducting research.
Coding. General procedure. Types of coding.
Relationships between analytical categories. Development of "concept maps". Verification of the validity of the conclusions.

-Knowledge of the main research methods used in qualitative research
-Understanding the advantages and limitations specific to the main methods used in qualitative research
-Knowledge of the principles underlying the conduct of qualitative research
-Critical commentary on the methods and tools used
-Evaluation of the methods and tools used in carrying out concrete research
-Evaluation of the validity of some research tools
-Performing an empirical research
