Course aims:

-To equip students with psychosociological principles and theories applied to human behaviour in organizations and work settings
-To help students to understand the development of industrial and organizational psychosociology in modern societies
-Understanding different aspects of scientific study of human behaviour in and related to the workplace to advance knowledge on the work well-being of employees and the economic well-being of work organizations.
-To get the specific language of organizational psychosociology
-To knowledge the various analysis and intervention theories about organizations

1. Introductions. The relevance of organizational analysis; place of organizational sociology in the field. 2. Models of organizations 3. Organizational Culture 4. Decision Making in organizations 5. Social Networks and Organizational Theory 11. Rise of Bureaucratic Administration 12. Scientific Management 13. Behavioral Decision Theory: The Carnegie School 14. Organizations and Social Systems

Learning outcomes:

-By the end of the course, and having completed the essential reading and activities, the students will be able to: • Students will know and understand the scope and methods of organizational psychosociology and its practical application in the workplace. • Students will successfully integrate theory and practice as applied to the organizational science in the workplace. • Understand and evaluate key factors in affecting employees’ work well-being. • Be aware to the relational dynamics. • Apply knowledge and skills to solve problems in organizational settings

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

-Written paper –– 70%; project assessment – 30%.
