Course aims:
• Delivering theoretical and methodological basic notions related to environmentally friendly technologies;
• Students customization to the specific terminology and expressions regarding environmentally friendly technologies;
• Understanding basic notions related to environmentally friendly technologies, which are used for designing and shaping such technologies.
Course Entry Requirements:
Physics, Ecology, Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics
Course contents:
1. Introduction, goals and objectives of this course;
2. General remarks about environmentally friendly technologies;
3. Basics concerning environmental impacts, environmental pollution and protection;
4. Fundamental concepts and notions related to environmentally friendly technologies;
5. Environmentally friendly technologies;
5.1. Environmentally friendly technologies with regard to air pollution;
5.2. Environmentally friendly technologies with regard to water pollution;
5.3. Environmentally friendly technologies with regard to soil pollution;
5.4. Environmentally friendly technologies with regard to complex pollution;
6. Role of life-cycle analysis and assessment with regard to environmentally friendly technologies;
7. Environmentally friendly technologies for shaping sustainable cities;
8. Environmentally friendly technologies for shaping smart cities;
9. Conclusions.
Teaching methods:
Giving lectures, presenting real case studies, explaining industrial processes based on fluids, conversation, exemplification, applying hands-on methods.
Learning outcomes:
knowing basic principles of designing, shaping and functioning ways of environmentally friendly technologies;
gaining theoretical and methodological notions with regard to diverse environmentally friendly technologies;
good expertise retrieval and systematic knowledge on the basis of deeper insights within analyzing procedures of environmentally friendly technologies;
basic notions for approaching environmentally friendly technologies (with small environmental impact

Oral examination – 50%; presenting prepared project – 25%; implication in solving problems during seminars – 25 %
