Course aims:

• to use correctly and in various contexts the terminology specific to the methodology of qualitative research in the education sciences;
• to identify the problems whose resolution involves the qualitative approach;
• to develop a qualitative research project / design and a project management plan;

Course Entry Requirements:

Basic knowledge in the field of research methodology acquired during the degree studies, through professional experience and / or in non-formal or informal learning contexts.

Course contents:

1. Brief history of research in education 2. Theoretical aspects of research in education. 3. Designing qualitative research in education. 4. Collecting and organizing qualitative data. 5. Analysis of qualitative data. 6. Criteria for evaluating research 7. Capitalizing / applying and publishing the results. 8. Research ethics

Teaching methods:

Lecture, conversation, exemplification.

Learning outcomes:

Understanding of the research process and requirements Ability to apply qualitative research

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Written paper – interpretative essay – 80%; continuous assessment – 20%.
