Course aims:

to develop an aptitude for careful theological reflection about worship;
to develop basic skills in worship and conducting liturgical services;
to to answer liturgical questions on any general ordination exam as evidenced in tests and papers.

Course contents:

1. Canonic hours, 2. Baptism, 3. Blessings and consecration of different objects, 4. The holy Unction, 5. Dedication of a church building, 6. The Matrimony, 7. The Ordinations, 8. The Funeral services.

Teaching methods:

Lecture, conversation, exemplification, PowerPoint presentation, video-projections etc.

Learning outcomes:

• To give practice abilities to conduct and perform liturgical services in the orthodox rite; • To know the structure of liturgical services and to deal with common and mobile parties of liturgical services;

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

Practical exam – 70%; theoretical examination on commune formulas – 20%; continuous assessment – 10%.
