Course aims:

- the formation of skills through which the student can reaches the stage of direct expression of the plastic message, through specific, secular and canonical-religious means
-adapting the compositional design to the Byzantine specifics of icon and mural art.

Course contents:

The study of the graphic elements of plastic language necessary for the composition of iconographic images

Graphic plastic relations between the realistic drawing and the Byzantine drawing

Drawing figurative representations for icon and mural painting. Drawing in the composition of the Byzantine landscape and architecture

The construction in the plastic space of the different elements to be represented respecting the specifics of the Byzantine art

Nature representations of the face, bust and limbs, Byzantine figures

Teaching methods:

lecture, debates, exemples, practical activities

Learning outcomes:

Transmitting theoretical notions and making specific practical applications the field of drawing, the development of artistic visual skills through awareness, assimilation and representation of graphic, constructive principles and value from the models in the proposed themes.

Learning outcomes verification and assessment criteria:

oral exam 50%, and implication in seminar practical activities 50%
