Aims

To acquire the foundations of sociological thinking and social interactions

To develop analysis capabilities of sociological issues from different theoretical perspectives

To use sociological imagination to understand social world and administrative problems

Course contents

Introduction, Sociological Theory, Groups, Family, Organizations, Communities, Culture, Socialization, Deviance, Applied Sociology in Public Administration

Learning outcomes

Knowledge of the concepts used in the research of groups, organizations and communities Use of basic knowledge in explaining and interpreting social risks at organizations and territorial community level Evaluation and appreciation of policies, programs and services specific to public administration in a sociological perspective

Assessment

Written paper –– 60%; continuous assessment – 40%.
